Pastor John Sama

John Sama, named at birth John T. Ngupkam, was born in a polygamous family in Bali Nyonga, a small village in the North West Province of the Republic of Cameroon, Central Africa. He was the first child of his father but the third of his mother, who left the matrimonial home when John Sama was still at a tender age.

He went to school thanks to the assistance of some family members, but that much-needed assistance was stopped when he was in middle school, leaving him to fend not only for himself but also for his younger siblings. He went through considerable dire straits, toiling round the clock to make ends meet. This life of gloom and doom was changed by a young lady who shared the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and the gift of salvation with him on the streets of Bamenda in June 1989. After considerable arguments, John Sama surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ accepting him as his Lord and personal savior.

This encounter brought a turning point and total transformation in the life of John Sama, who soon led his father and other family members to the Lord. His spiritual yearning to touch other lives extended far beyond his family when he became a faithful member of the Apostolic Church in Cameroon. He served as a member of "Jesus Christ For All” campaign team, under the leadership of the late Pastor Paul Kwo and Pastor T.V Ndi. He further served in the national youth movement under Pastor Tambe, the current President of TACC Cameroon, and also in the Cameroon Youth for Jesus. He was equally a member of the Flaming Fire of God Ministries, headed by Dr Papa Billy Lubansa. Furthermore, he helped in establishing many young churches as a lay preacher.

After completing his studies at the University of Buea, Cameroon, the Lord took him to the USA where, in November 2000, he married his sweetheart Hannah Ngupkam, and his family has been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Masoma and Korni Makane. In the USA, he has served as the Praise and Worship leader in the Omega Gospel Mission under Dr. Toby Awasum, and as District Youth pastor in the Church of God Of Prophecy Group 3. He is currently serving as Youth Pastor and Music Minister in the Omega Gospel Mission, Washington DC.

Ever since he became a child of God in 1989, he has had the inspiration to write music and sing in churches all over the country. He recorded an Album entitled “praisco” which was a testimony about his life despite the daunting afflictions he suffered in 1993, and later released “Jesus Reigns", in gratitude to the Lord that never fails. There is yet another album on the way entitled “In the Beginning”. This new album, with its anointed songs, will bring spiritual healing and consolation to the afflicted. It represents a voice calling all and sundry to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ who is our life line. It is hoped that it will contribute in changing your life and that of your loved ones.
